Postgraduate Programme

Stand Alone Ph.D. Programme

Students that have secured at least honours level in a taught masters programme in Economics or Finance are invited to enter this programme.  Ultimate acceptance on the programme for students who did not receive their masters degree from NUIM will be determined by their performance on an entrance exam in Microeconomic Theory, Macroeconomic Theory and Econometrics.  Students that attain their masters qualification other than at NUI Maynooth may be required to take specified courses in the M.A. in Economics and Finance offered by the Department. The programme of research normally extends over three years and candidates will be required to take appropriate taught courses and/or to make research visits at universities abroad.
