The Department of Economics, Finance and Accounting runs seven taught postgraduate programmes:  the MA in Economics, the MA in Finance, the M.Sc. in Economic and Financial Risk Analysis, the MA in Accounting, the Higher Diploma in Finance, the Higher Diploma in Economic Science, and Higher Diploma in Professional Accounting; and two research degrees, the PhD in Economics and the PhD in Finance.

The Masters Programmes in Economics and Finance offered are structured to provide international quality training in Economics, Econometrics, and Finance to Masters students and to provide a firm foundation for students continuing into the PhD Programme.  The PhD programmes are built on the foundation provided by the MA programmes and is comprised of both taught and research components. 

The Masters Programme in Accounting provides students with the key competencies required by a professional accountant in an ever-changing business and ethical environment.  Students will be encouraged to develop critical and analytical skills and apply their knowledge to unstructured situations. Successful Masters in Accounting graduates are entitled to full exemption from CAP 11 examinations of Chartered Accountants Ireland.

The Higher Diploma in Finance is designed to equip students, whose Primary Degrees have an Economics component and who have some background in Accounting, with a thorough grounding in Finance. The Higher Diploma in Economic Science is designed to enhance the skills in Economics of students whose Primary Degrees have an Economics component.

The Higher Diploma in Professional Accounting is a conversion programme for graduates with a non relevant accounting background. It aims to equip students with the key competencies equivalent to an undergraduate programme in accounting and full exemptions from CAP 1 examinations of Chartered Accountants Ireland.
